| The First-Year Science
and Health Fair on Nov. 15 showcased all first-year students’
research projects on a Health Promotion or Disease Education
topic. The approximately 600 students presented their work
in 150 posters which included topics on diabetes, bi-polar
disorder, anorexia, alcohol/substance abuse, Alzheimer’s
disease, depression, schizophrenia, obesity, childhood obesity,
cervical cancer, vaccinations, meningitis, leukemia, to name
a few. Also presented were topics on health promotion, such
as how to quit smoking, how to improve diet/nutrition, ways
to reduce stress, the benefits of exercise.
