USP Students "PREP" for Aids Walk

Fifty Preparation, Retention, Enrichment Program (PREP) scholarship students along with their director and counselor spent a Saturday morning in October making sandwiches for volunteers of the Aids Walk that took place Oct. 21. In three hours, they made 3,200 sandwiches.

PREP is comprised of 74 scholarship students to create a learning community. The program focuses on the recruitment and retention of the students. There are 16 new members added every academic year, and students remain a part of the learning community until graduation or separation from the University. As part of their contract, they are required to participate in a community service project every semester.

Last year, PREP students volunteered for the Cure for Autism.
