Background:
-
Before
coming to University of the Sciences in 1998, Dr. Zauhar
was a senior research investigator at the University of
Missouri and a scientist at Tripos Inc. in St. Louis,
MO. Previously, he was a research associate and the director
of the Center for Computational Biology at Penn State
University. His teaching experience includes lecturing
courses in molecular biology techniques, biological science,
biochemistry, molecular modeling and computational biology.
He also developed and teaches a course on computer-aided
drug design, which represents the focus of his current
research efforts.
-
He
has extensive experience with finite element methods and
other numerical algorithms, scientific and graphics programming
in FORTRAN, C and PERL on microcomputers, workstations
and mainframes. He is skilled in the development and implementation
of original computational methods for biological molecules,
involving interactive computer graphics and numerical
analysis techniques.
-
Dr.
Zauhar is a member of the Biophysical Society and the
American Chemical Society.
