Amy
Kimchuk has made numerous presentations and has conducted
most of her research on math anxiety. Some of her work
has focused on examining different teaching methods that
aid students in alleviating math anxiety, examining the
twelve myths about math normally found in math-anxious
people, examining different opinions on math anxiety held
by people inside and outside the realm of education, and
demonstrating how students in an urban community college
feel about mathematics. She also developed and co-facilitated
a math anxiety workshop series for Raritan Valley Community
College students.

Some
of the courses she has taught at University of the Sciences
in Philadelphia include mathematical analysis, computer
applications, college algebra and trigonometry. She was
a reviewer for Elementary Statistics, and also
was a consultant for University of Pennsylvanias
Tutoring and Learning Resources Program and for the Philadelphia
Daily News Education Supplement on "Discovering
Our Neighborhoods
And Ourselves." She is affiliated
with the Mathematical Association of America and the National
Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
