Dr.
Field heads the new graduate program in health policy
at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. He is also
associate professor of health policy. The program offers
graduate degrees in the study of government and corporate
policy related to health care. It focuses on interdisciplinary
training and research in areas such as Medicare reform,
health care industry structure and health care ethics.
Dr. Field joined the USP faculty from the Health System
of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was senior
director for planning and business development for the
primary care network. He is also a senior fellow of Penns
Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. He was formerly
a practicing health law attorney in Philadelphia and a
health policy researcher at the National Academy of Sciences
in Washington, D.C.

He
has given presentations nationally on topics such as physician
incentives in HMOs, ethical issues in managed care, health
care reform and health care industry restructuring. He
has also published widely on these topics and been quoted
frequently in the press.

Field has developed a web site (www.healthpolicy.usip.edu)
to provide information on health policy developments in
the Philadelphia area. The site is supported and maintained
by the graduate program in health policy at University
of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
