USP Names New Director of University Relations

University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP) has recently named Carolyn Vivaldi as the new director of University Relations. She brings to USP more than 20 years of experience in communications, journalism, public relations, media relations, and marketing. In her new position, she will be responsible for the overall development and implementation of the University’s communications, publications, public relations, media relations, and marketing initiatives. Vivaldi, a former resident of Allison Park, Pa., is a 1979 graduate of Shaler High School.

Vivaldi comes to USP from Aloysius Butler & Clark, a marketing communications company, where she served as a senior healthcare account supervisor. Prior to that, she was the director of marketing and community relations at Montgomery Hospital Medical Center. She also worked in public relations and marketing at several other healthcare providers in the Philadelphia market. In addition, she has been a communications manager at IMS America, a news editor at Chilton Publishing, and an editor for a Pittsburgh newspaper. She also served two terms as president of the Delaware Valley Health Public Relations and Marketing Association of the American Hospital Association.

Vivaldi earned a B.A. in journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
