University
of the Sciences in Philadelphia Names New Chair of the Department
of Pharmaceutical Sciences
The
Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at University of the Sciences
in Philadelphia (USP) has recently named Dr. Adeboye Adejare
of Pocatello, Idaho as associate professor and chair of the
Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He brings to USP more
than 20 years of experience in research and teaching of medicinal
chemistry and related pharmaceutical sciences courses.
In
his new position, he will direct and supervise the pharmaceutical
sciences faculty, and teach courses for undergraduate, professional,
and graduate students. He will also continue his research
in design, syntheses, and biochemical studies of compounds
that can be used as pharmacological receptor and enzyme probes.
His research is funded by the National Institutes of Health
(NIH) and several agencies.
In

received a Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry from the College of
Pharmacy at The Ohio State University and an M.S. and B.S.
in chemistry from the University of Iowa. He was also a Fellow
for several years at the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD.
