USP Hosts Chemistry Demonstrations for Children

Children of all ages will be welcomed to University of the Sciences in Philadelphia on Saturday, December 13, 10 a.m., during an annual chemistry demonstration organized by the Philadelphia Section of the American Chemical Society. The event is free and open to the public and will take place in the Wilson Student Center.

Chemistry professors from local colleges will display exciting experiments and presentations, including genie in the bottle, hero’s fountain, exploding flaming balloons, rings of fire, methanol cannon, burning gummie bears, chemical sunset, fun with soap film, and many others.

After the formal demonstrations, hands-on labs will be open to explore with color magic, bubble magic, soap magic, making your own gack (play-doh), and more.
