University of the Sciences in Philadelphia Controller's Office Employee Receives Promotion

University of the Sciences in Philadelphia recently announced the promotion of Joseph G. Trainor of Media, Pa., from Controller/Assistant Vice President of Finance & Administration to Controller/Associate Vice President of Finance & Administration.  His responsibilities include the areas of financial reporting, budgeting, student billing, accounts payable, treasury management financial aid and auxiliary services.

Before joining USP in 1995, he was the Assistant Treasurer and Comptroller at Drexel University.  He was previously the manager of financial accounting at the Meritor Financial Group.  He is involved in several civic organizations, including the University City District, where he serves as treasurer and chair of finances, and the Covenant United Methodist Church, where he serves as chair of finances.  He is also a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers.

Trainor, a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, received a B.S. in accounting and business at Pennsylvania State University.
