Jersey Congressman To Speak About Health Issues Facing Congress
At USP Congressman
Rob Andrews (D-NJ) will speak on national health policy issues
at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia on Monday, March
12, 5 p.m., in Wilson Hall (Room 209), 43rd Street
and Woodland Avenue.
Andrews was
on the conference committee that drafted the proposed Patients'
Bill of Rights in the last session of Congress, and has a
strong interest in health issues.
He will
speak about major health issues facing Congress.
The lecture is sponsored by the University's graduate
program in health policy and is free to the public.

Andrews
has served in Congress for ten years and has focused much
of his energy on health care and education.
He is the author of the Income Contingent Repayment
Plan, which will enable graduates to pay back their student
loans as a percentage of their income and he wrote the law
creating the Direct Loan program, which has lowered the cost
of borrowing for college.
In his talk, he will present an insider's view of pending
health care legislation, including the Patients' Bill of Rights,
Medicare prescription drug coverage and Medicare reform.
Andrews
has served in Congress for ten years and has focused much
of his energy on health care and education.
University of the Sciences in Philadelphia was founded
in 1821 as the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, the first
school of pharmacy in the United States.
The Health Policy Program offers Ph.D. and M.S. degrees
with a broad-based curriculum and conducts research on factors
affecting the provision of health care and health status.
