Pharmacists Association names University of the Sciences
in Philadelphia Professor "Pharmacist of the Year"
The Pennsylvania Pharmacists
Association recently named Dr. Daniel Hussar as Pharmacist
of the Year. Dr. Hussar is the Remington professor of pharmacy
at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at University of
the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP). He received the honor
during the Associations annual meeting during the
summer.
Dr. Hussar is involved in teaching the
pharmacotherapeutics courses at USP and has participated
in numerous continuing education programs for practicing
pharmacists and other health professionals. For a number
of years, he has published articles in several professional
journals on the new therapeutic agents that have been marketed
in the United States. He also serves as chief pharmacy editor
of Pharmacy Today.
He is a member of a number of professional
organizations, including the American Pharmaceutical Association,
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Drug Information
Association, Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association and the
Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists. He has
served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the American
Pharmaceutical Association and is a Past President of the
Drug Information Association and the Pennsylvania Pharmaceutical
Association.
He received a Ph.D, M.S. and B.S. in
pharmacy at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science,
now USP.
