University of the Sciences in Philadelphia Hosts
International Health Experts
Several prominent international
health experts will speak at the University of the Sciences
in Philadelphia this spring. Talks will explore issues such
as third-world health, corporate philanthropy and American
outreach efforts. The series is sponsored by the schools
health policy program for students and the general public.
On March 1, Karen Lewis of the World Health Organization
will speak on international prevention and control of tobacco
use. Other speakers include Dr. Juan Antonio Casas, director
of health and human development for the Pan American Health
Organization, Denise Davis of the American Friends Service
Committee, Ron Corey of Pharmacia & Upjohn, and Frances
Barnett of the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States.
All presentations are from
2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons in the Universitys
Wilson Student Center, Room 208. The campus is located at
43rd Street and Woodland Avenue in West Philadelphia.
