ARC Sponsors Book Drive for KIPP Charter School
Support our new neighbor, KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School, by donating a book.

On Nov. 15, One Big Book Club students volunteered at the Salvation Army Eliza Shirley House, an emergency shelter for homeless single women and families, where they brought donations, decorated for the Thanksgiving holiday, spent time with the children, and organized clothing, toys, and other donations.

Marguerite (Waxler) Schmitt P’54 retired from Oswald Pharmacy in Jenkintown, Pa., in June 2006. She has five grandchildren, all in their 20's, and lives in Philadelphia.
1969
Frank M. Stearns BI’69 (MS’72, Medical College of PA; PhD’78, Hahnemann Medical College; MBA’90, LaSalle University) coauthored two papers at the 62nd annual meeting of the American Association of Blood Banks in New Orleans in October 2009. He is the CEO and lab director at the American Red Cross National Testing Laboratory in Philadelphia.

Jo Ellen (Boris) McLaughlin P’89 and James J. McLaughlin P’86 announced the birth of seventh child Sean Andrew on March 26, 2009. He joins big brothers Christopher, Jonathan, Colin, Timothy, Brendan, and Ryan.
