The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia requires that all full-time students maintain active health insurance coverage comparable to the university-sponsored insurance plan while in attendance at the University (see related letter). As of Fall 2009, all University of the Sciences International students will be required to carry the University's sponsored Student Health Insurance plan (see international student letter).
Students with other insurance coverage are required to notify the University of their coverage status each year in order to waive out of the university-sponsored student health plan.
Student Health and Counseling (SHAC), in partnership with USI Collegiate Insurance Resources and Inter-County Health Plan Inc. (ICHP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Independence Blue Cross and Highmark Blue Cross, is pleased to be able to offer USP students an affordable option in terms of student health insurance coverage.
