Student Health Service

Meet The Staff

Student health is staffed by the director, a full time nurse, a part time nurse, a consulting physician, and an administrative assistant.  In addition, multiple graduate and undergraduate assistants contribute to the student health office and programming.

Bonnie Packer, R.N., Nurse Manager

Ms. Packer received her nursing degree from Lankenau School of Nursing and received her B.A. in sociology from Temple University.  She is certified in College Health Nursing from the American Nursing Credentialing Center, and is a member of the American College Health Association and Southeastern PA College Health Nurses Association.  She has worked at USP for over 25 years.

Dr. Gustavo Batista, Consulting Physician

Dr. Batista received his medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in the Dominican Republic. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York, and a fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida. He is currently a Clinical Instructor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Diane LaBruna, Administrative Assistant

Diane has been at USP since 1993, beginning in the Department of Student Affairs, and then moving into Student Health with Nurse Packer.  Diane supported two children through college, and as a result is particularly familiar with the experiences of college students and encourages all students to utilize the resources available at Student Health and Counseling.
