Campus Crime Statistics

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, and The Pennsylvania College & University Security Act

The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in compliance with The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), and The College and University Security Act of 1988, reports annually to its current and perspective students and employees policies, procedures and crime statistics for the previous three years pertaining to reported crimes that have occurred on-campus; in certain non-campus buildings or property that is owned or controlled by the University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

The University's crime statistics are prepared based on information/incidents reported by the campus community, crime reports from the 18th police district, crime reports from the University City District, student conduct records, and crime reports provide by neighboring institutions.

Further, the Clery Act mandates the reporting of "Hate Crimes" (motivated by bias) and arrests and disciplinary actions for alcohol, drugs and weapons that are a violation of law.

If you believe there has been a violation of one or more of the provisions of the Acts, you may file a complaint with the Executive Director of Public Safety, who will respond in writing to the complaint within five-business day from the date the complaint is received. If, after receiving the reply to the complaint, you still feel that the violation has been committed, and not corrected, you may appeal to the Vice President of Operations, who has the ultimate responsibility to receive and resolve such complaints.

A printed copy of the annual report is available by calling 215-895-1117.

If you have a problem, a question, or a concern regarding the reported statistics, call 215-895-1117, or email the Department of Public Safety at DPS@usp.edu.
