PRIOR APPROVAL

Any new project will be subject to review by the Safety Committee or the Chemical Hygiene Officer or his/her designee to assure that all safety considerations are in place prior to implementation.

Approval to proceed with a project should be obtained:

  •  
 When a new laboratory procedure or project is to be carried out.
  •  
 When it is likely that toxic limit concentrations could be exceeded or that other harm is likely.
  •  
 An Experiment Protocol Form will be used for prior approval.  However, all grant/contract approval forms requiring the Director of Environmental Health and Radiation Safety's signature must be accompanied with the Experiment Protocol Form.
