Although both are players on USP's championship women's basketball team, it wasn't just the chance to play that drew Amanda Byrd and Jan Kalafut to USP. Top rebounder Amanda liked "the integrity of the University and its strong
Physical Therapy program." Even though she'd been a three-sport athlete in high school, the reputation of the
Pharmacy program swayed Jan. For both, the quality of USP's academics was as important as the strength of its athletic programs. "I have definitely been challenged here," says Amanda. Jan sees USP as "a community of students who work together. USP has helped me realize what I want to be and where I want to go in life." Amanda concurs: "Since coming here, I've gained a positive attitude about my future."
