Welcome From the President
Welcome to University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP), a
private, coeducational institution founded in 1821 as Philadelphia
College of Pharmacy, the first college of pharmacy in North America.
As you navigate through our website, you will read about our impressive
legacy of educating individuals who have impacted pharmacy, science,
and health sciences. Our students are learning at the same institution
where the founders of several leading pharmaceutical companies in
the world launched their careers. Our institution also helped inspire
many of our alumni to begin significant careers that focused on
improving the health and wellness of society. This pattern of excellence
in education continues every year with each new class of students.
We also invite you to learn more about our exciting evolution from
a college of pharmacy to a University that comprises four colleges
across a broad range of majors. Our four colleges - Philadelphia
College of Pharmacy, Misher College of Arts and Sciences, the College
of Health Sciences and the College of Graduate Studies each have
their distinct strengths, but with a shared mission – educating
students for rewarding careers through its undergraduate, graduate
and doctoral degree programs in the health and related sciences.
The University is evolving through numerous initiatives, such as:
