Industry and Government

  • Recent advances in drug therapy and environmental concerns about toxic substances have increased the demand for pharmacologists and toxicologists.
  • Opportunities in the chemical industry include research and development, quality control and environmental testing.
  • Graduates are prepared for dynamic careers in the pharmaceutical industry focusing on drug discovery, development and testing.
  • Government agencies responsible for drug and chemical regulations and approvals provide additional opportunities for graduates.
Pathway to Postgraduate Degree Programs
  • Graduates may elect to enter post-baccalaureate programs in medicine, dentistry, law, biochemistry, industrial hygiene, other life sciences, or business.
  • Graduates may continue their studies at USP towards the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Pharmacology and Toxicology.  About half of the course requirements for an advanced degree are fulfilled in the B.S. program.
  • Students have opportunities to diversify studies by selecting business courses approved for the MBA degree at Drexel University
