Biography

Dr. Philip Gerbino is President of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP), which includes the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, the College of Health Sciences, the Misher College of Arts and Sciences, and the College of Graduate Studies. He is a Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA), Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP). Dr. Gerbino continues to serve on editorial and advisory boards of pharmacy, medical and healthcare publications, and is a consultant on strategic planning, marketing, and new business development to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. He has or continues to serve on boards of private and public healthcare companies and professional and civic organizations.

Dr. Gerbino has published and lectured extensively, and is an accomplished professional chairman and facilitator. He served as President of APhA in 1990, and as a civilian pharmacy consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General. Prior to being named President of USP, he served as Dean of the School of Pharmacy and Vice President of Academic Affairs. He also retains the title of “Linwood F. Tice Professor” at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Gerbino earned his PharmD and BS in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, where he has worked for more than 30 years as an educator and administrator.
