Biography

Shawn Boyle is an Instructor of Pharmacy for the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacy Administration at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP). He is a graduate from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at USP, obtaining his Bachelors in Pharmacy in 2000, and his Doctor of Pharmacy in 2001.

Prior to joining the university in August of 2004, he fulfilled his roll as Professional Practice Associate at the Pennsylvania Society of Health System Pharmacists (PSHP) through his work with continuing education, accreditation, statewide educational meeting planning, and adjunct teaching both of pharmacy and physician assistant students through USP and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM).

Currently, Dr. Boyle teaches in several different disciplines. For the Doctor of Pharmacy students, he serves as coordinator the college’s Pharmacotherapeutics Laboratory, facilitator of their clinical skills course, as well as lecturing in several of the pharmacy didactic courses. However, Dr. Boyle also takes pride in teaching pharmaceutical principles to other healthcare fields including physical therapy, pharmaceutical marketing, and physician assistant students.

In addition to his teaching, Dr. Boyle serves as an advisor to both Alpha Phi Omega (national service fraternity) and the Inter-greek Council; is an active member of the university Student Conduct Board; and is a Director the USP Alumni Association. While he is still heavily involved with the PSHP, he is also a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP), and the American Pharmacists Association (APhA).
