Career Potential

You’ll be sought after—even before graduation.

As a Physician Assistant, you will be entering a profession with an expected 49 percent increase in demand in the next 10 years. According to U.S. Department of Labor projections, the Physician Assistant represents the third-fastest-growing profession in the nation, with 94,000 positions available by 2012. Another perk—as a physician assistant, you may have your malpractice insurance and other related expenses paid for you by your employer. In the years ahead, as health care delivery focuses more and more on effective and efficient medical services, the need for Physician Assistants will continue to expand.

Employers request our graduates because they know they are well-educated and experienced. In fact, 100 percent of recent graduates from PCOM were placed in positions before graduation. You have the potential to earn a starting salary from $55,000 to $65,000—with higher starting salaries possible, especially in orthopaedics, dermatology and surgery.
