Department of Occupational Therapy Faculty
Paula Kramer, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA Chair and Professor
As a recipient of both the A. Jean Ayres Award from the American
Occupational Therapy Foundation and a service recognition award
from both Presbyterian Homes and Services and the American Occupational
Therapy Association, Dr. Kramer has also received several grants
from PHS' foundation to provide programs using a lifestyle design
approach for seniors in affordable housing communities. She was
the Chairperson of The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy
Education of AOTA for 5 years and remains active in the professional
association.
Michelle Cohen, PhD, Associate Professor
Dr. Cohen is an experimental psychologist, specializing in rehabilitation research. She has published extensively in this area, most notably in the area of spinal cord research.
Roger Ideishi,
JD, OT/L, Assistant Professor
Dr. Ideishi is the recipient of the 2004 Homiller Award for Excellence in Teaching. He has directed several community based grant funded service learning projects, focusing on the development of play skills and child health.
Pamalyn Kearney, MS, OTR/L, Assistant Professor
Ms. Kearney is the 2005 recipient of the Homiller Award for Excellence in Teaching. She has published in the area of evidence-based practice and caregiving with Alzheimer's patients.
Joanne Ames,
MS, OTR/L, Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education
Ms. Oppermann has extensive experience in the areas of mental health
and student supervision. Joanne is currently serving as the Executive
Officer of the local chapter of the Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy
Association.
Ruth L. Schemm, EdD, OTR/L, FAOTA, Professor Occupational Therapy
Dr. Schemm is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association and a noted scholar in the area of Occupational Therapy history.
Geraldine Borrelli Shea, MA, OTR/L, Clinical Instructor
Ms. Shea came to occupational therapy after a career as a dancer. She uses this knowledge and experience exploring the use of movement in children with developmental delays and sensory integration problems.
Suzanne Trump, MDiv, OTR/L, Clinical Instructor
Ms. Trump has expertise in the role of occupational therapy in hospice care and spirituality. She is also the Assistant Dean of Retention and Advising for the University.
