Below are some highlights of our summer orientation program. Click here for a schedule of all events.
A series of fun ice breakers and activities designed to help you understand university life and meet other students. These activities will be led by your orientation leader.
To help you make your transition into university life a bit easier, you’ll get the guidance you need to understand your class schedule, how drop/add works, and other important information.
This session is run by the Department of Academic Advising and the Registrar’s Office. If you have AP or IB credit, discuss this with your academic advisor.
The Department of Information Technology will guide you through the process of setting up your University network account, e-mail, alert system, and password recovery. Once you leave campus, you will be able to use all of the University’s program such as Web Advisor and Live E-mail, as well as library resources such as Ovid and Medline.
You will receive a complimentary copy of the book, Persepolis2 by Marjane Satrapi. Your assignment—read the book over the summer and return to campus in the fall to discuss what you’ve read. This activity gives you a unique opportunity to get to know fellow students, faculty, and staff in a small-group setting. You’ll receive more details about One Big Book Club and the essay contest at Orientation. You can also check out more information at the One Big Book Club web site.
