Whether your golf game could give Rory McIlroy a run for his money – or you play for the social aspect of the sport, the women's basketball team at University of the Sciences
encourages golfers of all skill levels to hit the links for its second annual golf outing on Friday, Sept. 26, beginning at noon, at the Northampton Valley Country Club in Richboro.
“All proceeds will directly support our women’s basketball program by helping us purchase necessary equipment, and cover other essential costs to provide a first-class athletic experience for our student-athletes,” said Jackie Hartzell, head coach of the women’s basketball program. “Participation and support of this outing will certainly help us elevate our program and gain momentum toward a successful season."
Registration to participate in the four-person scramble is currently open, and the entry fee is $150 per golfer. Individual golfers are also encouraged to participate. Included in the cost of the outing are greens fees and a cart, lunch, refreshments on the course, a tournament gift, dinner, and the awards banquet. Prizes will be awarded for the first place team, hole-in-one opportunities, as well as many other course contests.
Golfer registration will begin at noon; the scramble will start at 1 p.m.; and the dinner banquet and silent action will be held around 5:30 p.m. Individuals interested in attending the dinner banquet only can do so for $50.
Hole sponsorships are available for $100, and include special recognition with signage at their respective hole, as well as further publicity during the event. The program is also accepting donations for the silent auction which can include golf merchandise, clothing, memorabilia, professional services, tickets to athletic events, dinners, and hotel accommodations.
