Retirement overhaul: 401(k)s may not be the answer now

Retirement USA will unveil a number of proposals for a new retirement system when it convenes. A summary of the proposals: Guaranteed Pension & Community Investment, Author: Glenn Beamer, associate professor of public health at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. These would be community-based individual account plans, collectively invested, to which employers and employees would contribute 5% of wages.

Hussar, the Remington Professor of Pharmacy at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, explains that two antiviral medications, oseltamivir (Tamiflu) and zanamivir (Relenza) are active against the H1N1 strain of virus.

College to be renamed for generic drug entrepreneur Marvin Samson
Philadelphia Inquirer - June 9, 2009
Once unable to afford pharmacy school, Samson, through his business success, was able to make charitable gifts to support them, including helping the nation’s oldest, the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, improve its West Philadelphia campus. Sometime this fall, the University of the Sciences will honor Samson’s dedication by renaming its College of Health Sciences after him. The Samson College of Health Sciences, which offers majors in occupational therapy and physical therapy, will be the third college at the University of the Sciences to bear an individual’s name.
