Q: What type of help is available in the labs?
A: Labs are supported by USP staff & student workers.

Q: Can the labs support CDs and zip disks?
A: Wilson and CAPS labs contain DVD/CDRW drives, the LRC has zip drives

Q: What type of computer to buy/bring?
A: IBM-compatible PC, (not MAC), Dell is a recommended brand

Q: How much space is needed on a computer?

Q: Does the university provide disks for students to use?
A: No, but we do allocate server space for students.

Q: Are printers available for student use?
A: Yes, each student is allotted 300 pages per semester and can purchase more if needed.

Q: Is a modem required?
A: No. Students in the residence halls have a direct connection to the Internet, much faster and more reliable than a phone line. An ethernet card is required in order to connect to the network.

Q: How do I set up my computer, install software and get USP email?

Q: Do students need his/her own computer?
A: A PC is not required, but recommended
