Three-year operational/fiscal plan for Information
Technology

The following plan was developed by USP’s IT Steering and Planning Committee.
Careful consideration was given to the goals and objectives of the Information Technology
Strategic Plan and the overall vision, mission, and goals of the University.
- Keep student access computers on a 3-year life cycle by replacement
on the fourth fiscal year.
- Upgrade one additional existing classroom per fiscal year with
full multimedia capability.
- Increase reach of wireless capability at a building per year rate.
- Replace classroom multimedia equipment on a 4 to 5 year cycle depending
on use.
- Replace faculty and staff office computers on a need based, 4-year
life cycle.
- Establish a 3-year life cycle of server replacement. Approximately one-third inventory beginning FY 06-07.
- Assess campus needs on an annual basis through the IT Steering
and Planning Committee and revise as needed.
- Plan and deliver necessary training programs for faculty and staff
as new or upgraded technology is added.
- Ensure all newly constructed classrooms are fully multimedia and
computer access capable.
