Position: Instructional Designer
Description:
• Provide consultative support in curriculum development,
course design and developing appropriate teaching/learning applications
of technologies.
• Advise in the selection of effective and efficient instructional
strategies for computer-based teaching and learning.
• Assist in the development of web-based courses, including
the use of web-based applications (Angel) and digital media.
• Assist in retooling courses and course segments to electronic
delivery methods
• Design and develop student training programs preparing them
for online learning
• Develop and maintain timelines for design, development,
and evaluation of on-line courses and other technology-based instructional
activities/materials
• Collaborate with the Director of the Teaching and Learning
Center and Head of the Learning Resource Center to plan, develop,
and deliver faculty development workshops, training modules, and/or
tutorials on using instructional technologies to enhance student
learning
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional
Technology, or a related field
• Four years of higher education experience designing online
courses
• Advanced knowledge of learning theory and the cognitive
bases for knowledge acquisition
• Knowledge of learning management systems, multimedia production,
digital audio/video processing, web page creation, Adobe Flash,
Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Premier, Captivate or Camtasia Studio, Final
Cut Pro and Streaming Media
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and team development
skills
• Experience teaching adults in a web-based environment to
remote users is highly desirable
