Department- Advanced Concepts Institute
Position Title: Finance Manager

The Finance Manager will work closely with the Advanced Concepts Institute’s Executive Director and with the University accounting department. The Finance Manager will be responsible for performing all month-end closing and reporting functions including preparation of month-end financial statements and variance reports. The Finance Manager will also be responsible for preparing project budgets, project profit and loss statements and comparing project budgets to actual results and preparing variance reports. In addition to the month-end closing responsibilities, Finance Manager will assist in costing/pricing for potential projects and for maintaining various databases used to price potential projects. More specifically, Finance Manager will have the following functions:

A. Essential Functions:

1. Perform month end closings including preparation of journal entries and financial statements.
2. Maintain and perform all subsidiary ledger reconciliations.
3. Develop and maintain project profit and loss statements on a monthly basis.
4. Process/manage accounts payable and invoicing to customers and related files.
5. Work closely with sales and operations to assist in pricing for proposals to customers.
6. Maintain time reporting and allocation of time to each project.
7. Assist in preparation of budgets and variance reports.
8. Produce monthly financial reports for senior management.
9. Maintain all customer contract files to ensure timely submission of invoices to customers.
10. Work closely with the project teams to ensure financial information is supplied to them in a timely fashion for budget tracking purposes.
11. Maintain vendor relationships for many sales, general and administrative related vendors.
12. Ensure confidential information is securely maintained.
13. Perform functions with attention to detail.

B. Other functions of the positions include but are not limited to:

1. Work closely with the Executive Director on administrative requirements of Advanced Concepts Institute.
2. Work closely with the Executive Director and Director of Operations on various special projects as may be requested.
3. Perform various financial analysis as may be requested by Executive Director, University Finance & Operations Departments.

C. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

1. A 4-year degree in business or accounting, with a minimum of two years relevant experience, or
2. A 2-year degree in business or accounting with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
3. Experience with general ledger accounting software packages.
4. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, with special emphasis on Excel, Word and Access products, as well as internet/web based technology and other GL software
5. CPA a bonus.
6. Excellent verbal and written communications skills
7. Highly organized and attention to detail
