Are you interested in studies that take you beyond disciplinary
boundaries?
Would you like to pursue studies in the natural sciences while
enjoying immersion in humanities such as history, languages, literature,
fine arts, and philosophy?
If so, the Bachelor of Science in Humanities and Science
program at USP has been designed with you in mind.
Offered for the first time in 2006, the Humanities and Science
program gives students a thorough grounding in
the natural sciences in combination with in-depth study in the various
humanities disciplines.
To bring together the philosopher and the historian with the biologist
and the chemist, to make possible that the artist and the physicist
work together, to create an opportunity for the student of literature
to relate to the mathematician—these are needs our world must
address. And the graduates of this program will be ready to do so.
With the BS in Humanities and Science, you have the unique opportunity
to:
- Develop a multidisciplinary curriculum
and establish an individualized curriculum.
- Complete all the necessary prerequisites for professional programs
in the health sciences, such as medical, dental, or veterinary
school.
- Complete all the necessary prerequisites for advanced degrees
in law, library sciences, or any field where a strong background
in both science and the humanities together would be useful.
- Broaden your exposure to
languages, literature, philosophy and the arts.
