Information for Corporations and Foundations
The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia has a long heritage
of dynamic partnerships and productive relationships with foundations,
as well as corporations across the pharmaceutical, biomedical, life
science, and health science industries. These partnerships offer
industry the research, expertise, and resources of USP faculty and
graduate students.
Corporate and Foundations Relations (CFR) plays a key role in fostering
relationships between corporations and foundations and the University,
as well as working with faculty and students to obtain funding from
corporate and foundation sources.
Corporate and foundation funding has made many important research,
facilities, programs, and events possible at the University, such
as:
- A Minority Junior Faculty
Award from the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation
to Dr. Deepika Vadher, assistant professor of clinical pharmacy,
to examine the relationship between health literacy and medication
adherence in patients diagnosed as hypertensive and diabetic;
- An Arcadia Foundation grant
toward construction of the new Life Sciences and Technology Center;
- AstraZeneca support
of the 2003 USP Healthy Policy symposium on the future of Medicare;
- A grant from the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback foundation
to establish a Center for Community Connections in the Office
of Student Affairs.
