- 28 percent of college students are involved in service.
- 68 percent of Colleges and Universities surveyed
indicate the number of students participating in service on their
campus has increased over the past year; 18 percent of schools feel
it has not.
- Of these institutions surveyed, 38 percent say
that student involvement in service activities has gone up at
least 10 percent, 16 percent of schools say the number
has gone up from 11 to 25 percent, 6 percent believe it has increased
between 26 and 50 percent and 3 percent of universities and colleges
surveyed state that service has increased by at least 50 percent.
About half of the schools surveyed consider those figures an exact
total or a close estimate, while 37 percent say their numbers are
a rough estimate.
