  • The American Chemical Society (ACS), is the professional society for all individuals working in chemically related professions. The ACS publishes many scientific journals and books, including Chemical & Engineering News, manages Chemical Abstracts, the largest chemical database in the world, sponsors and organizes large scientific meetings addressing issues of importance to chemists, and serves as a clearing house for chemical employment. The ACS also certifies the bachelor degrees of students taking chemistry based on the curricula offered by colleges and universities throughout the United States. The Certification program was designed to establish a standard for the effective training of chemists that is recognized nationally by industrial employers.
  • Cambridge Soft's Chemfinder Database where compounds can be searched for by name, structure, density, melting point, boiling point, molecular weight, formula, and CAS RN Number.
  • Chemical Abstracts Service. On June 15, 1998 CAS identified and entered into the CAS Registry the 18 millionth chemical substance. The CAS Registry is the world's largest substance identification system. The 18 millionth substance appeared in a WIPO patent application dated April 30 from Merck & Co., Inc. To celebrate this accomplishment, staff of Chemical Abstracts Service formed a human replica of the structure on the CAS campus in Columbus, Ohio. Check out our web site to see the structure, as viewed from a helicopter overhead. Before the picture was snapped, one of the CAS chemists was taken to 1000 feet by helicopter to certify that the structure was correctly formed! Yes, chemistry can be great pHun!
  • ChemPen3D Classic Organic Reactions provides examples of many specific organic reactions and is updated monthly.
  • Galactic Industries Corporation has compiled and posted a variety of spectral data in a variety of forms for downloading. Spectra can be searched for by name, formula, and CAS RN Number.
  • General Chemistry: Starting Points for Students is a carefully selected collection of the best links of direct interest to students enrolled in General Chemistry courses.
  • National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) WebBook provides access to the full array of data compiled and distributed by NIST under the Standard Reference Data Program. The current edition, the Chemistry WebBook, contains: thermodynamic data, IR's, mass spectra, and thermophysic properties.
  • Spectroscopic Tools at Potsdam University provides fragmentation tools for H, IR, mass spec, 13C shift calculations, J-Couplings, chemical shift tables, and much much more.
