DEPARTMENT FACULTY
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry has a total of 18 faculty
members engaged in teaching and/or research activities at both the
undergraduate and graduate levels, with expertise distributed over all 5 of
the major areas of chemistry, including biochemistry.
In addition, 4 faculty members from other departments, indicated by an
(*) after their name, are affiliated with the Department
as "Research Professors", and are involved in teaching and research activities
associated with the Graduate Programs in
Biochemistry, Chemistry and Pharmacognosy. This combination of 22 faculty members
provides students with a wide range of teaching expertise and research
opportunities.
The expertise of Emeritus Professors is also available to
assist students with their research activities. These professors typically
continue to teach, engage in research and/or consult for chemical
and pharmaceutical companies, albeit at a reduced level of activity.

specialties in order to effectively represent this diversity in expertise and
interest.

The Staff members included here
play a direct role in the activities of the Department, by interacting with
faculty and students, as well as with other members of the University community,
to ensure that the needs of the faculty and students are met, and that the
Department runs smoothly. These individuals include the Department Administrative
Coordinator and the University Stockroom Manager.
