Philadelphia (October 2, 2006) -For the third time this season, University of the Sciences cross country runner Joy Aifuwa (Edison High School/Edison, N.J.) has earned the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Runner of the Week honors.

In her fourth race of the season, Aifuwa crossed the line in second place at Saturday’s Belmont Classic in Philadelphia. In a race that featured seven conference schools, Joy was the first CACC runner to finish, coming in at a time of 20:14.57 and leading the Devils to a third place finish.

The former Edison High School athlete is in her third season of competition for the Devils. In 2005, she earned Runner of the Week honors five times and finished 3rd at the 2005 CACC Championships earning All Conference honors for the second consecutive year. Since the 2004 season, Aifuwa has earned CACC Runner of the Week honors 11 times.

Next up for the Devils will be the Goldey Beacom Invitational, hosted by Goldey Beacom College at Carousel Park in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday, October 7, 2006.
