Willey Earns his Third CACC Cross Country Rookie of the Week Honors

Philadelphia (October 17, 2005) - University of the Sciences freshman cross country runner Nick Willey (Shenendehowa High School/Clifton Park, NY) has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 16, 2005.

This marks the third time Willey has earned Rookie of the Week honors this season, earning the honors during the weeks of September 11, 2005 and October 2, 2005.

As he has been all season, Willey was the top USP finisher at Saturday’s Cabrini Invitational in Philadelphia, completing the 8,000-meter course in 29:20.29. His time was good enough for 5th place amongst the 72 finishers, his best finish, place-wise, this season. Willey’s performance helped lead the Devils to a sixth place finish at the meet.

The former Shenendehowa High School athlete is in his first season of competition for the Devils.

The Devils next race will be the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships, held at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia on October 22, 2005.
