Rance Named to ECAC Division II Women’s Basketball All Star Team

Centerville, Mass. – University of the Sciences in Philadelphia women's basketball player Shelby Rance was named to the 2006-07 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Women’s Basketball All Star Team as announced by the ECAC Communications office, earning second team honors.

This year’s accolades mark the second consecutive year that Rance (Central Columbia High School/Bloomsburg, PA) has been named to the ECAC All-Star Team as a second team selection. The teams are voted on by the head coaches of Division II ECAC members.

Rance, a first team All-CACC selection the past three seasons, led the Devils in scoring (16.4 ppg.) and ranked sixth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and 75th nationally amongst NCAA Division II players. The senior guard led the Devils to a 19-10 record, a third place finish in the CACC and a spot in the CACC semi-finals. In her final game of her career, Rance became the Devils all-time leading scorer with 1,939 career points surpassing Leah Shumoski’s 1924. Shelby also led the Devils in free throw percentage (84.7%), steals (68), three point field goals made (47) and three-point FG% (33.1%). Rance ranked third in the CACC in free throw percentage and 34th nationally amongst NCAA Division II players.

Rance is a pharmacy majors, pursuing Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. A former Central Columbia High School athlete, Rance recently completed her fourth and final season of play for the Devils.
