Edwards Named an Honorable Mention All-Conference Selection
New Haven, Conn. (2/26/07) - University of the Sciences in Philadelphia senior guard Rashanna Edwards (West Windsor-Plainsboro HS/Cherry Hill, N.J.) was named as an honorable mention selection to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Conference Team in balloting released today. The voting is done by the league’s 12 head coaches.
Edwards is currently third in the CACC in assists (4.96/gm.). Rashanna is also tenth in the league in free throw percentage (79.8%), sixth in the league in steals (2.19) and third in assist/turnover ratio (1.40). The senior guard has helped lead the Devils to an 18-9 regular-season record and a number three seed in the upcoming CACC Playoffs.
Edwards currently leads the Devils in assists and is second on the team in steals and three point field goals made. Rashanna is also third on the team in free throw percentage and fourth on the team in scoring averaging 9.1 points per game.
The former West Windsor-Plainsboro High School athlete is in her fourth and final season of play for the Devils. Rashanna is currently the Devils second all-time leading playmaker with 419 career assists.
Edwards is a physical therapy major at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and will graduate in 2009 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
