Puschak a CACC Volleyball Honor Roll Selection for Second Straight Week

PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 6, 2008) – University of the Sciences in Philadelphia volleyball player Christine Puschak (Conestoga Valley High School/Leola, Pa.) was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Volleyball Honor Roll for the week ending October 5, 2008.

Puschak's selection marks the second consecutive week that the sophomore middle hitter has been selection to the CACC honor Roll. For the week, Christine averaged 3.38 kills and 0.75 blocks per set as the Devils won both their matches, 3-2 over Wilmington University and 3-0 over Dominican College

Opening the week against Wilmington University on Tuesday, Puschak tied her career high with 21 kills while hitting 42.9% (21-3-42). Six of Christine's kills came in the final set as the Devils held of the Wildcats to win 3-2. Puschak had an attack percentage of 75% in that final set (6-0-8) and also added four blocks during the match.

Christine closed out the week with a six-kill effort in USP's 3-0 win over Dominican College. Puschak committed just one error and finished the match with a .250 attack percentage (6-1-20). Her last kill was the match winner in set three.

For the week, Puschak recorded 27 kills in 62 attempts with just four errors for a hitting percentage of 37.1%. Christine added six blocks, four digs and an ace in the eight sets played over the two matches.

Puschak currently leads the Devils in kills (140), kills per set (2.50) and attack % (.291). She is second on the team in, aces (18), aces/set (0.32), total blocks (27) and blocks/set (0.48). Christine currently ranks sixth in the CACC in hitting percentage and eighth in kills/set.

The former Conestoga Valley High School middle hitter is in her second season of play for the Devils. Puschak is a Pharmacy major at USP, pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
