Trimble Named to Daktronics All-Northeast Region Team
Smithfield, R.I. – University of the Sciences in Philadelphia senior Megan Trimble was named to the 2007 Division II Daktronics All-Northeast Region Team as a second team selection. The Daktronics All-Northeast Region Team is chosen by the Sports Information Directors from the Northeast-10, East Coast and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conferences.
In earning Daktronics All-Northeast Region honors for the second time, Trimble (Coatesville High School/Coatesville, Pa.), a three-time All-CACC player, led the Devils in batting (.437), home runs (3) and runs batted in (26). The senior outfielder played and started in 33 of the Devils 37 games, recording 45 hits in 103 at-bats. Trimble was also second on the team in stolen bases with four and third on the team in doubles with six. Her .437 batting average places her third amongst the league’s softball players and 33rd nationally amongst all Division II players. Megan was also named to the Daktronics All-Northeast Region Second Team in 2004. Trimble was the CACC Player of the Year in 2004, a first team All-CCC selection in 2007 and a second team All-CACC selection in 2005.
Trimble is the Devils’ all-time leader in home runs (21), total bases (217) and runs batted in (88). She is fourth on the Devils all-time hit list behind teammates Sarina (165) and Samantha Lavooy (127) with 124 career hits. Trimble also ranks in USP’s top 10 all-time in six other offensive categories.
Trimble has completed her fourth season of play for the Devils. The former Coatesville High School athlete is pursuing Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
