Bossert Named to CACC Softball Honor Roll
New Haven, Conn. (4/6/09)- University of the Sciences in Philadelphia junior outfielder Bethanne Bossert has been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women’s softball honor roll for her performance during the week ending April 5, 2009.
Bossert (St. Hubert’s High School/Philadelphia, Pa.) had two doubles and two triples in three games for the Devils this week while hitting .636. USP recorded a 2-2 record on the week.
Opening the week against Goldey Beacom College, Bossert went 2-for-4 in the opening game of the doubleheader with a run scored as the Devils won 5-3. Bethanne followed it up with a 3-for-4 game with a double and a triple, two runs scored and a RBI in the nightcap. For Bossert it was her first career triple in 94 career games.
The junior outfielder topped off her week with a two-for-3 effort in the opener against Bloomfield. Bossert had a double and a triple in this contest as well as her team leading ninth sacrifice hit.
For the week, Bossert had seven hits in 11 at-bats for a .636 average. Four of her seven hits went for extra bases, producing a slugging percentage of 1.182. Bethanne scored four runs and drove in one in the three games she played.
The former St. Hubert’s High School athlete is in her third season of play for the Devils. Bossert is a physical therapy major pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of the Sciences.
