Snavely Named to CACC Softball Honor Roll

New Haven- Conn. (3/10/08) – University of the Sciences in Philadelphia women’s softball player Carolynn Snavely (Prescott High School/Prescott, Ariz.) was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Honor Roll for her performance during the week ending March 9, 2008.

Snavely, a 5’6” senior first baseman, batted .571 during USP’s eight game Florida trip. Carolynn recorded at least one hit in seven of the eight games as the Devils went 2-6 over the eight game stretch.

In the Devils first game against St. Anselm on Sunday in Fort Myers, Florida, Snavely belted her first home run of the season, a two-run blast in the first inning that accounted for all of the Devils runs in their 7-2 loss. Carolynn also drove in two runs in the nightcap, going 2-for-2 as the Devils recorded their first win of the season, 8-5.

Snavely also had a two hit game against St. Cloud State and a two and a three-hit effort in two games against New York Institute of Technology. In the Devils final game of the Florida trip, Carolynn went 1-for-3 with a double as the Devils defeated then #20 Wayne State College 1-0.

The former Prescott High School athlete is in her fourth and final season of play for the Devils. Snavely currently leads the team in RBI (4), hits (12), batting average (.571), slugging percentage (.762), walks (4) and total bases (16). She is second on the team in runs scored.

Snavely is a pharmacy major pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
