Shooters Sweep Keydets (10/25/09)

Freshmen Brad Driscoll and Ed Ryznar and senior Courtney Cavalieri had the top three scores of the day in both smallbore and air rifle as the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia mixed rifle competed a sweep against Virginia Military Institute's men's , mixed and women's rifle teams in Lexington, Virginia on Saturday.

The Devils defeated the VMI men, 4404-4177 and the VMI mixed team 4403-4048. USP also won against the VMI women, 4403-3764. The three wins improve USP's overall record to 6-1. In Mid-Atlantic Rifle Conference (MAC) matches, the Devils are 6-1 in smallbore and 5-1 in air rifle........more

USP Women's Rifle Team Swept by Virginia Military Institute (10/24/09)

The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia women's rifle team were swept by the three Virginia Military Institute rifle teams, losing to the Keydet men, mixed and women's squads Saturday in Lexington, Virginia.

While the Devils did suffer three overall losses, the women's team did earn an MAC Air rifle victory, out-pointing the VMI women, 1950-1892. Overall, the VMI men defeated the Devils, 4177-3689, the mixed team 4048-3689 and the VMI women won 3764-3689. The losses drop the Devils overall record to 0-7. In Mid-Atlantic Rifle Conference (MAC) matches, the USP women are 1-5 in air rifle and 0-7 in smallbore........more

Mixed Rifle Team Defeats Princeton (10/10/09)

The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia mixed rifle team had all four designated scorers shoot scores of 540 or better as they defeated Princeton University 2224-2092 Saturday in their home opener at the Colonel William Shea rifle Range in Philadelphia.

The win improves the Devils record to 3-1.......more

Women’s Rifle Team Drops Match to Princeton (10/10/09)

Princeton University’s Olympic duo of Abigail and Sandra Fong proved to be a formidable foe as the Tigers defeated the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia women’s rifle team 2092-1831 Saturday in their home opener at the Colonel William Shea Rifle Range in Philadelphia.

Midshipman Defeat Devils at MAC Invitational (10/4/09)

Coming off their two wins on Saturday at the MAC Invitational, the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia mixed rifle team took on the host school, the United States Naval Academy in day two of tournament, losing to the Midshipman 4627-4406.

The loss drops the Devils record to 2-1. The Devils were outshot in smallbore 2292-2175 and in air rifle 2335-2231......more

Navy Sinks Devils at MAC Invitational (10/4/09)

Returning to action for day two of the Mid-Atlantic Rifle Conference Invitational in Annapolis, Maryland, the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia women's rifle team lost at the hands of their hosts, the United State Naval Academy 4627-3350.

The loss drops the Devils record to 0-3. USP was outshot, 2292-1616 in smallbore and 2335-1934 in air rifle.......more

Mixed Rifle Team Opens Season with a Pair of Wins (10/3/09)

The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia mixed rifle team kicked off their 2009-2010 campaign on the right path, earning wins over the United States Coast Guard Academy and Massachusetts Maritime Academy at the first day of the Mid-Atlantic Rifle Conference (MAC) Invitational Tournament hosted by the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

The Devils finished the day with a combined smallbore and air rifle score of 4413. Coast Guard had a score of 4260 and Massachusetts Maritime had a score of 4192.......more

Women's Rifle Loses Season Opener (10/3/09)

The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia women's rifle team opened their 2009-2010 season Saturday, competing at the Mid-Atlantic rifle Conference (MAC) Invitational hosted by the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The USP women dropped both contests, losing to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, 4260-3491 and Massachusetts Maritime Academy 4192-3491.

The Devils shot 1643 for smallbore and 1848 for air rifle to combine for their 3491 score. .......more

USP Athletic Department Announces their Rifle Schedule for 2009-2010

The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia athletic department has released the schedules for the 2009-2010 mixed and women’s rifle teams.

Both teams kick of their 2009-2010 season competing at the Second Annual Mid Atlantic Rifle Conference (MAC) Tournament on October 3rd and 4th at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The Devils will face Massachusetts Maritime and SUNY Maritime on the opening day before going up against the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and host Navy on day two......more
