Adefemi Named CACC Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week
New Haven- Conn. (12/10/07) – University of the Sciences in Philadelphia men’s Basketball player Adewale Adefemi (Winslow Township HS/Chesilhurst, N.J.) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for his performance for the week ending December 9, 2007.
In the Devils only game last week, Adefemi, a 6’5” freshman, scored a game-high 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds as the Devils lost to Post University 55-48 in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Adefemi connected on six of ten shots from the field (60%) while hitting five of nine free throws (55.6%). Adewale also led the Devils with seven rebounds, four of them coming in the second half.
The former Winslow Township High School athlete is in his first season of play for the Devils. Adewale is currently averaging 8.4 points per game off the bench for USP and is tied for second in the CACC averaging 9.2 rebounds per game. Adefemi also leads the Devils with 16 free throws made.
Adefemi is a pharmaceutical marketing/management major at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
