The Devils return just two starters for last season’s squad which finished with a 7-20 record and in fifth place in the CACC southern division. USP’s lone senior returning is Curtis Fitch (Marianapolis Prep HS/North Grosvenordale, Conn.). Fitch led the Devils in field goal percentage (45.8%) and blocked shots (15) last season.  Sophomore Myer Messinger (Dallas HS/Trucksville, Pa.) will also be expected to contribute to the Devils offense this season.  Messinger saw action in all 27 games for the Devils last season, averaging 13.6 minutes and 3.9 points per game.  Small forward Omari Phillip (Germantown Friends School/Elkins Park, Pa.) is expected to see increased playing time while freshman point guard Will Kernan (Lawrenceville School/Medford, N.J.) leads a cast of ten newcomers on the Devils squad.

The Devils open their season at West Chester University on November 17, 2009.  In addition to their 17-game conference schedule and usual non-conference contests, the Devils will face Division I Brown University at the Palestra on Friday, November 27, 2009 in the Philly Hoop Group Classic.
