Aquatic Programs
Fit Swim Club
This program consists of swimming workouts, in a team format. This
program will work the body using all four of the strokes - Free
Style, Breast Stroke, Back Stroke, and Butterfly. To take this class
you should be able to swim lengths of the pool unassisted. Participants
swim yardage exercises in a fun fit fashion, within a group setting.
Swimming is great cardiovascular activity, and is a great way to
exercise and get in shape. By removing the focus on competition
style racing, and placing the overall goal on getting in shape,
we open ourselves up to untapped potential. This untapped potential
is a fun fit new way to get in shape similar to the kickboxing program
that the the Department of Campus Recreation offers.
Stroke Mechanics
This is the perfect class to take if one wants to become a better
swimmer. The next step for people that already know how to swim
is improving those existing skills. Emphasis for this program is
to improve on swimming skills and styles. Hand position and leg
position are key to developing effective swimming styles. The concentration
is on the skills and mechanics of swimming. If you are a good swimmer,
you will become a great swimmer.

part of learning new strokes is, understanding how those strokes
work. Participants will gain an understanding of why they are learning
what they are learning.

the assistance of a flotation device, kickboards, or PFDs. This
level will also introduce lap swimming. Successful completion of
this course should involve being able to swim full Laps. The Butterfly
swimming stroke should also be introduced as well as the introduction
