Description
The Spanish Minor is designed to provide students with a concentration
in the Spanish language and culture that will both enhance their
marketable skills in the health care professions and increase their
employment opportunities regardless of their career path. Students
will have the opportunity to explore all aspects of Spanish culture
including language, literature and the arts of both the Old and
New Worlds.
The need for Spanish-speaking professionals continues to increase
with the growing Hispanic population in the United States (from
32.8 million in the year 2000 to 37.4 million in the year 2002 -
US Census). Successful completion of the Spanish minor will provide
health care students with additional skills to augment the quality
of health care services. USP students in other fields will also
attain knowledge and skills useful to them both personally and professionally.
