How We Help
While many if not most students come to University of the Sciences with a particular major in mind, others prefer to take some time before committing to an appropriate academic program. The University has a variety of ways to help you sort through the diverse options and settle on the path that is best for you.
Academics
- The undeclared programs are structured so that from the beginning you’ll take prerequisite coursework for the major you eventually choose.
- In your first year in any of our undeclared programs, you may transfer into any major as long as you meet the program’s academic requirements and your intended major has space available.
Advising
As an undeclared major you’ll work closely with a professional advisor to set up class schedules, explore options for majors, and discuss curricular and co-curricular activities that are appropriate for the paths you’re considering.
Orientation
- In one- or two-semester undeclared orientation classes, you’ll hear from program chairs and other representatives of each major relevant to your particular undeclared option.
- You will also have one-on-one conversations with program faculty, giving you the chance to delve more deeply into different academic options.
